The ministry of information and broadcasting has asked Telegram to remove all pirated content. It has issued Telegram a formal notice under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Government sources confirm that 3,142 channels have been identified for illegally distributing films and web series. The I & B ministry’s notice is a result of complaints received by it from JioHotstar, Amazon Prime Video and others.
