The producers of Malayalam film Haal have challenged the cuts ordered by the CBFC, and the adult certification given to the film, in the Kerala high court. They have contended that their film on inter-faith love was wrongly termed a ‘love jihad’ film by the CBFC.
The film depicts a Muslim-Christian couple facing social pressure while choosing to retain their faiths.
