The Karnataka high court has directed the ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to examine broadcasts and digital content related to Kannada film actor Darshan in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case. Darshan claimed that despite the trial being at the initial stage, television channels and digital platforms were disseminating speculative narratives which were impairing his right to fair trial.
