The Punjab police have informed the Bombay police’s crime branch that the voice in the viral audio message, issued soon after Aamir Khan’s recent marriage with Gauri Spratt, matched an earlier recording of alleged Lawrence Bishnoi gang operative Arzoo Bishnoi, available in its records. Investigators are now treating the voice match as crucial evidence while investigating the conspiracy behind the threat.
In the audio message, the speaker, identifying himself as Arzoo Bishnoi, accuses the actor of promoting love jihad and acting against Sanatan Dharma while describing it as a first and final warning and threatening to teach the actor a lesson.
The threat surfaced only on social media, prompting the Bombay crime branch and the cyber cell to launch a detailed inquiry. Neither the actor nor his staff had received any threat message, suggesting that the threat communication had been circulated only through social media.
Although no FIR has been registered so far, a technical investigation by the police is underway considering the seriousness of the threat. Security around Aamir Khan has also been beefed up as a precaution.
According to sources, an initial probe traced the communication to an IP address linked to Sweden. However, the investigations later revealed that the sender had allegedly used a Sweden-based Virtual Private Network (VPN), along with the Tor browser, to conceal the actual location and identity of the person behind the threat message.
