Media and entertainment personality Karan Arora was arrested by the CGST department on 18th September in Bombay on charges of fraudulently availing of Rs. 77 crore worth of input tax credit under GST. Arora is also one of the biggest tax defaulters in the UK.
In the UK, Karan is accused by the Joint Fraud Taskforce comprising the City of London Police, Metropolitan Police Service and the British National Crime Agency of fraudulently claiming VAT and film tax refunds.
