Producer-director Mahendra Bohra passed away in his sleep this morning (2nd March) after a prolonged illness. He had not been keeping good health since almost three months. He was 79. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter and their families. Actor Karanvir Bohra is his son.
Mahendra Bohra, son of Ramkumar Bohra, had produced a number of films. Among the films he had produced were Takkar (starring Naseeruddin Shah, Sunil Shetty and Sonali Bendre) and Tejaa (starring Sanjay Dutt and Kimi Katkar), Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna and Main Hoon Sherni. He used to also occasionally act in films. Mahendra Bohra was a well-known name in the world of Gujarati cinema, having produced a number of Gujarati films, some of which were also directed by him. Among the Gujarati films produced by Bohra were Khara Khari No Khel, Bhakt Prahlad, Jai Hanuman, Shetal Ne Kanthe and Bhagwan Shri Krishna.
Mahendra Bohra was an ever-smiling person with a very positive attitude in life.
