To the list of states which have asked cinemas to close down have been added Punjab, Rajasthan, Orissa, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh. While cinemas in Punjab and Rajasthan downed shutters from today (14th March) itself, those in Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh will shut down from tomorrow (15th). Cinemas in Delhi, parts of Maharashtra (including Bombay and Pune), Madhya Pradesh and Bihar are closed since today morning. Most of the states have asked cinemas to remain closed till 31st March.

It seems to be only a matter of time that states like Uttar Pradesh and Haryana would follow suit. It goes without saying that the businesses of films like Angrezi Medium (first week) and Baaghi 3 (2nd week) have been adversely affected as cinemas screening them are few.
