The decks are cleared for the release of Peddi (Telugu) on 4th June, as decided by the sub-committee formed by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, at its second meeting held on May 18 in Hyderabad. The sub-committee was formed specifically to finalise the revenue-sharing terms between producers/distributors and exhibitors.
The following decisions were taken:
(1) All the members unanimously agreed that Peddi must release without any hindrance.
(2) If there is any enhancement in ticket prices for Peddi in Andhra Pradesh, 7.5% of the extra amount would be paid.
(3) For premiere shows, the payment per show will be made as follows: Rs. 25,000 for ‘A’ centres; Rs. 15,000 for ‘B’ centres; Rs. 10,000 for ‘C’ centres.
(4) The above will be applicable in case ticket prices are hiked in Telangana.
(5) Producers, distributors and exhibitors agreed for implementation of percentage system.
(6) The new percentage system will be decided before the release of the next big film or three weeks from now, whichever is earlier.
(7) Films which are more than 70% complete will be given a preferential percentage. All other films will follow the new percentage system.
