Producer and actor Sachin Joshi has lodged a criminal complaint with the Khar (Bombay) police station against Raj Kundra and his actress-wife, Shilpa Shetty, alleging a fraud. Sachin has accused the couple and officials of Satyug Gold Pvt. Ltd. (SGPL) of cheating, fraud and other charges. He said, they had lured him and then cheated him through the Satyug Gold Scheme which was launched in 2014. On his part, Raj Kundra said, Sachin’s claim was totally false and frivolous and an attempt to malign and tarnish his image and reputation. He also said, Sachin’s complaint was an attempt to exact revenge for a Rs. 40 lakh cheque bouncing case against him for the purchase of a team in one of Raj’s sporting events.
As regards the criminal complaint by Sachin Joshi, Raj Kundra said on 6th March that the gold due to Sachin was secure with Satyug and could be collected after complying with the relevant formalities. Raj also added, Sachin had to pay the balance Rs. 17.35 lakh. Raj explained that he was an investor and director in SGPL which had launched the gold plan to provide gold to customers, in which Sachin bought one kg. gold against a Satyug Gold Card in 2014. The card, he said, was redeemable after five years at a discount. “Every single order received from hundreds of customers since the company’s inception has been fulfilled without a single complaint,” Raj said.
