SANJAY DUTT DENIES POLITICAL AFFILIATION | 27 August, 2019

Sanjay Dutt on 26th August denied that he would be joining any political party. The clarification from the actor came a day after Maharashtra state Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development minister Mahadev Jankar announced that Sanjay would join his party, Rashtriya Samaj Paksh (RSP), on 25th September. Dutt told the media that although Jankar was a dear friend and like a brother to him, he would not be joining him or his party. He added that he wished Jankar good luck in his future endeavours.

Mahadev Jankar on 25th August told party workers in his address to them at Shivaji Park in Bombay that Sanjay Dutt was about to join the RSP which is an ally of the BJP-led state and central governments since 2014. But since there was some confusion over the date, he explained, Sanjay Dutt could not make it to the gathering that day and hence his induction into the party had been postponed till September. A video recording of the actor was played at the convention but although Dutt wished Jankar in the video, he spoke nothing about his joining the party.
