Ruby Patel, mother of actress Shernaz Patel, passed away on 11th May in Bombay. She was 86. Ruby Patel was a famous theatre personality and a name to reckon with on the Parsi-Gujarati stage. She acted in a number of plays till the 1960s, many of them with her actor-husband, Burjor Patel. Ruby and Burjor Patel formed Burjor Patel Productions in the late 1970s. The couple returned to India in 2009 after a stint of over 20 years in Dubai.
Ruby Patel is survived by her husband and three children.
