Shooting of Vikram Batra’s biopic, Shershaah, started this week. The first shot of the Dharma Productions film was taken by Lt. Gen. Y.K. Joshi and commanding officer of 13 JAK Rifles during the Kargil War 1999. Captain Vikram Batra, who passed away on 7th July, 1999, was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest award for valour, for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War in Kashmir, between India and Pakistan, in which he was martyred. Sidharth Malhotra plays Vikram Batra in the film. It is being directed by Vishnuvardhan and is written by Sandeep Srivastava.
