Shagun Wagh and Cheetah Yajnesh Shetty, both from the film industry, have launched an app for film expense management and financial control on the Zeerow platform. The app has been painstakingly designed by a Chartered Accountant, Anand Joshi, who is based out of Indore. Sunil Saini, also from the film industry, will market the product.
The app was launched at the hands of your editor, Komal Nahta, in Delhi on 30th August at the Film Expo organised on a grand scale by Vindoo Dara Singh.
The Zeerow app comes as a boon for producers. It makes tracking shooting expenditure — however small or large — on a daily basis easy for every production house using it. Instead of trying to reconcile expenditure statements and correlating the same with the funds utilised, after every shooting schedule or after several schedules, this app makes it possible for the producer or his accountant to receive a list of all monies expended at the end of each day. Not just that, it also makes it clear who or which department of filmmaking has spent the money and under which head. The invoice is also uploaded on the app so that locating bills and invoices at the last minute can be avoided.
Because of a daily summary of expenses, the expenditure remains in control of the producer or his representative in real time so that corrective action to control it can be taken forthwith.
