TANUSHREE DUTTA FILES PROTEST PLEA AGAINST POLICE REPORT | 6 December, 2019

Actress Tanushree Dutta moved a protest plea before the Andheri magistrate court in Bombay on 5th December against the police report stating that her sexual harassment case against Nana Patekar was “false”. The plea urged the court to reject the police report and proceed against Nana. She has sought compensation from Nana Patekar and the state and has urged for the investigations to be transferred to the crime branch.

Tanushree had lodged her sexual harassment case in October 2018. It had marked the start of the #MeToo movement in India. On June 12 this year, the police submitted a B summary (case closure) report to the court and said, there was no evidence to prosecute Nana.

In her current protest plea, Tanushree has sought directions from the court to change the investigation officer, and to take action against the officer for filing a “false report”.
