A woman, living in Bombay and desperate to raise funds for her husband’s liver treatment, fell prey to imposters online and ended up getting cheated of Rs. 37,600. The fraudsters posed as representatives of Salman Khan’s Being Human Foundation. The lady, Kokila Patel, found an email id, beingsalmankhan@socialworker.net, and took it to be that of the actor’s Foundation. Rather than helping her, the fraudsters took Rs. 37,600 from her in three instalments under different pretexts. She smelt a rat then and approached the cyber crime cell.
