‘AKHANDA 2’ (DUBBED) REVIEW | 12 December, 2025

14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment’s Akhanda 2 (dubbed from Telugu film Akhanda 2: Thaandavam; UA) is an action film.

Scientist Janani (Harshaali Malhotra) is targeted by the Tibetan army because she has invented an antidote for the bio warfare it has launched in India. Akhanda (Nandamuri Balakrishna), who had once promised to return whenever she faced danger, reappears to help Janani. He protects Janani and also thwarts the bio war.

Boyapati Sreenu’s story is not very novel or unpredictable. His screenplay is engaging in parts only. Like the basic plot, the drama is also quite routine. Although there are many characters, only a few get scope to perform. The climax scene, in which Lord Shiva seems to have entered Akhanda’s body, is a highlight. M. Prasad Babu’s dialogues are ordinary.

Nandamuri Balakrishna shines in action scenes as Akhanda. He is also good in the role of twin brother Murali Krishna. But the actor looks old. Harshaali Malhotra does well as scientist Janani. Samyukta performs ably as scientist Archana. Kabir Duhan Singh makes a fine mark as Ajit Bhakur. Shaswata Chatterjee is effective. Aadhi Pinisetty is adequate. Ronson Vincent lends fine support. Achyuth Kumar has his moments. Sangay Tsheltrim makes his presence felt as the Chinese army officer. Ravi Mariya, Vikramjeet Virk, Poorna, P. Sai Kumar and Harsha Chemudu are passable. Others do as desired.

Boyapati Sreenu’s direction is not quite up to the mark. He has concentrated so much on the action and stunts that his narration leaves something to be desired. Thaman S.’s music is average. Lyrics are alright. Song picturisations are appealing. Thaman S.’s background music is impactful but also a bit too loud at several places. C. Ramprasad and Santosh Detake’s cinematography is lovely. Ram Lakshman’s action and stunt scenes are thrilling. A.S. Prakash’s art direction is of a fine standard. Tammiraju’s editing is sharp. Dubbing is proper.

On the whole, Akhanda 2 is a very ordinary fare and will go quite unnoticed at the Hindi box-office.

Released on 12-12-’25 at Gemini (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Zee Studios. Publicity: so-so. Opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
