‘JANKI’ REVIEW | 12 December, 2025

N. Mahi Films’ Janki (UA) is a love story. Raghu loves Janki but is unable to express his feelings. Meanwhile, Janki’s marriage is fixed with Raghu’s brother. Does Raghu confront Janki or does he silently sacrifice his love?

Mohit Kumar Sahu’s story is oft-repeated and devoid of novelty. Kaushal Upadhyay’s screenplay is dull. The drama fails to engage the viewers who passively watch it unfolding. Kaushal Upadhyay’s dialogues are routine.

Dilesh Sahu fails to impress. Anikriti Chowhan’s performance is dull. Others pass muster.

Kaushal Upadhyay’s direction is poor. Toshant Kumar and Monika Verma’s music is nothing to dance about. Monika Verma’s lyrics are dull. Song picturisations (by Kaushal Upadhyay and Baba Baghel) are below the mark. Manohar Yadav does a dull job of the background music. Rajat Singh Rajput’s camerawork leaves a lot to be desired. Madhu’s action and stunt scenes are unexciting. Gaurang Trivedi’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Janki is a flop show.

Released on 12-12-’25 at Gem (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru 1st Film Studios. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak everywhere.
