Released last week in Bombay and U.P., Faith Filmss Entertainment’s Kalika (A) is the story of a woman trapped in a toxic relationship. She battles trauma, isolation, fear and other emotions which threaten to destroy her from within.
Raushni Srivastava’s story is oft-repeated. Her screenplay is also devoid of novelty. There is hardly anything in the drama to sustain the viewers’ interest. Raushni Srivastava’s dialogues are dull.
Raushni Srivastava fails to impress. Raja Guru does an ordinary job. Sarah Kashyap is barely passable. Sharmila Goenka, Veer Gurjar, Vaibhavi Verma and the other actors lend routine support.
Raushni Srivastava’s direction is poor. Music (by Mohammed Afsar and Madhu Nair) is functional. Lyrics barely pass muster. Tanvi Nadkar’s camerawork is below the mark. Abhishek Kumar Singh’s editing is loose.
On the whole, Kalika is a weak fare.
