‘KRANTIJYOTI VIDYALAY MARATHI MADHYAM’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 1 January, 2026

Chalchitra Mandalee and Crazy Few Films’ Krantijyoti Vidyalay Marathi Madhyam (Marathi) is the story of a Marathi medium school which faces the prospect of shutting down because of its 90-year-old structure, and dwindling number of students as also because landlord Jagtap (Anant Jog) wants to construct an international school in its place. However, school principal Dinkar Shirke (Sachin Khedekar) asks his ex-students to come to the rescue of their school. How the students rise to the occasion forms the crux of the drama.

Hemant Dhome’s story is quite alright. His screenplay is reasonably entertaining because he has woven comedy and emotions in the drama. Overall, the proceedings keep the audience engaged throughout because the comic scenes tickle the funny bone while the emotional ones touch the heart. Hemant Dhome’s dialogues are nice.

Sachin Khedekar does a fine job as school principal Dinkar Shirke. Amey Wagh excels in the role of Babban. Siddharth Chandekar is okay as Kuldip. Prajakta Koli does an average job as Anjali. Kshitee Jog is fair as Salma. Pushkaraj Chirputkar is alright as Vishal. Harish Dudhade is so-so as Rakesh. Kadambari Kadam lends ordinary support as Vishal’s wife, Suman. Nirmiti Sawant makes a fine mark in a brief role as Narvekar teacher. Rajendra Shisatkar is adequate in a bit role as the education minister. Jitendra Joshi leaves a mark in a tiny role as the new education minister. Others do as desired.

Hemant Dhome’s direction is of a fine standard. He has made a fairly entertaining film. Harsh-Vijay’s music is okay and so are the lyrics (by Ishwar Tarabai Andhare and Ratnakar Matkari). Hemant Dhome and Sachin Kamble’s choreography is nothing to dance about. Aditya Bedekar’s background music should’ve been better. Satyajeet Shobha Shriram’s cinematography is alright. Shamim Khopkar’s production designing is good. Bhavesh Todankar’s editing is reasonably sharp.

On the whole, Krantijyoti Vidyalay Marathi Madhyam is an entertaining fare and will, therefore, appeal to the audience and do well at the box-office.

Released on 1-1-’26 at Plaza (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Sunshine Studios. Publicity: okay. Opening: quite good.
