‘LOHITAKSHA’ REVIEW | 30 October, 2026

Released last week all over, Gana Vikas Films’ Lohitaksha (UA) is about three different worlds which collide to unravel a gory past filled with abuse, murder and revenge. An autorickshaw driver is trapped in a web of lust and death. A couple is caught in a cycle of toxicity. There’s a cop whose deputation hangs between a spiritual sidekick and a mysterious case. Their three worlds collide.

Deepali Debasmita Das’ story is not really exciting. Bhupindara’s screenplay is weak. The drama, therefore, fails to engage the viewers who passively watch the proceedings without feeling involved. Nishant Majithia’s dialogues are dull.

Siddhant Issar is ordinary. Apsara Rani passes muster. Kamlesh Sawant is very natural. Sukumar Tudu is okay. Bobby Mishra is average. Santu Nije, Sakti Baral, Suman and the rest lend routine support.

Bhupindara’s direction is dull. Music (Abhijit Majumdar, Abhijit Tripathy and Nabs & Saroj) is functional. Lyrics (Nishad Mishra, Abhijit Tripathy and R. Anshuman Dash) are nothing to dance about. Baba Yadav’s choreography hardly deserves special mention. Background music is so-so. Krushna Sarada Sahoo’s camerawork is ordinary. Satyaprakash Sahoo’s production designing is okay. Manas Kumar Sahoo’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Lohitaksha is a flop show.
