Mohan Media Creations and McWin Group USA’s M4M – Motive For Murder (dubbed from the Telugu film of the same name; UA) is a murder mystery. Hyderabad city is gripped by fear as a serial killer re-enacts famous paintings through gruesome murders. A police officer and a lady-journalist try to solve the chilling mystery. The needle of suspicion points towards a former student and a school principal. What is the motive of the serial killer/s?
Mohan Vadlapatla, Jo Sharma and Rahul Adabala have written a routine story which does not offer much excitement or thrill even though it is a murder mystery. The screenplay, penned by Mohan Vadlapatla and Rahul Adabala, is hackneyed. The drama simply fails to involve the viewers — and what is a murder mystery unless it involves the audience in a guessing game. Sree Chakra Mallikarjuna’s dialogues are ordinary.
Sambeet Acharya is weak. Jo Sharma does an average job. Subhaleka Sudhakar passes muster. Satya Krishnan is just about passable. Pasunoori Srinivas is unimpressive. Geetha Bhaskar does a routine job. Others are dull.
Mohan Vadlapatla’s direction is weak. Vasanth Isaipettai’s music is so-so. Santosh Shanamoni’s camerawork is okay. G. Hari’s sets are nothing to shout about. Anandh Pawan’s editing leaves something to be desired. Dubbing is okay.
On the whole, M4M – Motive For Murder is a poor fare.
Released on 8-5-’26 at Gem (daily 1 show) of Bombay thru Filmastra Studios. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
