Ele Animations’ Mahaprabhu Jagannath (animation) is a fictional story around Lord Jagannath and his miracles. It is Kalyug. The powerful asura, Aham, traps devotees and divine beings inside a mysterious mercury world. Aham is convinced that nobody can defeat him. To rescue all those trapped, Mahaprabhu Jagannath, along with Balaram and Garud, travels to where Aham is and confronts him with wisdom instead of weapons and destruction.
Pallavi Sharma’s story and screenplay would appeal to the kids mainly as the drama is like a fairy tale. Pallavi’s script is not very well written and hence it does not give the viewers a high. There are no moments when the audience would feel elated or excited enough to clap and applaud. Dialogues are ordinary.
The voice acting is nice. Prachi Save Saathi does well as the voice of Jagan (Mahaprabhu Jagannath). Sonal Kaushal is good as the voice of Balaram. Aadityaraj Sharma is effective as the voice of Ahamasur. Other voice over artistes have also done well.
Shripad Warkhedkar’s direction is quite nice. His narration is better than the script. The animation is ordinary. Aviral Kumar and Arjit Shrivastava’s music is okay. Atul Kumar Verma’s lyrics are fairly nice. Aviral Kumar’s background music is reasonably good. Deba Prasad Sahoo and Ranjan Kumar Sukla’s editing could’ve been sharper.
On the whole, Mahaprabhu Jagannath is too ordinary to make a mark at the ticket windows.
