MUDDA 370 J & K | 14 December, 2019

Subharti Media Ltd. and Jayas Films’ Mudda 370 J & K (A) is about the ages-old Hindu-Muslim strife in Jammu & Kashmir and the return of peace after the recent revocation of Article 370 by prime minister Narendra Modi.

Suraj (Hiten Tejwani) is a Hindu Kashmiri pandit and he is in love with a Muslim girl, Aasma (Anjali Pandey). Aasma’s brother, Jabbar (Raj Zutshi), is a jehadi. He is instigated by the maulvi (Mohan Kapur) to kill the Hindus if they don’t leave Kashmir. Jabbar goes to kill Suraj, but Aasma takes the bullet and dies. Suraj and Jabbar also die in a bloody battle which follows.

Years later, on 5th August, 2019, prime minister Narendra Modi revokes Article 370 to restore peace in Jammu & Kashmir.

Dileep Mishra and Rakesh Sawant have penned a childish story and a clichéd screenplay. The drama moves on such an oft-repeated and predictable path that nothing makes an impact on the viewers. Nisar Akhtar’s dialogues are poor.

Hiten Tejwani does an average job and is ill at ease as the hero. Anjali Pandey acts quite well as Aasma. Raj Zutshi is so-so as Jabbar. Manoj Joshi (as Suraj’s father) and Zarina Wahab (as Suraj’s mother) lend good support. Anita Raaj is alright as Aasma’s mother. Pankaj Dheer is okay as Aasma’s father. Mohan Kapur makes his mark as the maulvi. Sujata Mehta and Anjan Srivastava are adequate. Rakhi Sawant makes her presence felt in an item song-dance.

Rakesh Sawant’s direction is poor. Music (Sayed Ahmed, Salil Multy Khan and Rahul Bhatt) is okay. Lyrics (Nisar Akhtar, Seema Bhatt and Shahid Anjuman) are routine. Bobby’s choreography is reasonably good for the front-benchers. Background music is very dull. Nagmindar Mundal’s camerawork is not upto the desired standard. Deepak Sharma’s action and stunt scenes are functional. Rahul Sarkar’s sets are below the mark. Yogesh More’s editing is rather loose.

On the whole, Mudda 370 J & K is a poor show and it will meet with a disastrous fate.

Released on 13-12-’19 at Gem (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru SR Entertainment. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
