‘ONE TWO CHA CHA CHAA’ REVIEW | 16 January, 2026

Pellucidar Production’s One Two Cha Cha Chaa (UA) is the story of a mentally deranged man, Ved (Ashutosh Rana).

Sanjeev (Lalit Prabhakar) is due to marry Mishty (Hemal Ingle). Sanjeev’s paternal uncle, Ved, also wants to get married. His family members pacify him by agreeing to get him married, but they all know, that’s not possible because of his mental state. Anyway, Ved runs away from home. Once he is brought back, Sanjeev and his two cousins decide to admit him in a mental hospital. But Ved escapes while being taken to hospital too. What happens thereafter?

Abhishek Raj Khemka’s story is idiotic — and that’s putting it mildly. His screenplay is so irritating that it actually tests the viewer’s patience. Nothing in the drama makes sense. It becomes clear to the audience quite early on that a novice has tried to put a drama together by writing a screenplay which cares neither for logic nor for continuity. Dialogues, written by Rajnish Thakur and Abhishek Raj Khemka, are silly.

Ashutosh Rana does well as the mentally deranged Ved. Lalit Prabhakar is good as Sanjeev. Anant Vijay Joshi (as Sanjeev’s cousin, Sadda) and Harsh Mayar (as Sanjeev’s cousin, Lappu) are ordinary. Nyra Banerjee is okay as singer-dancer Shoma. Abhimanyu Singh is ordinary as dacoit Bhura Singh. Mukesh Tiwari makes his presence felt in a brief role as police inspector Yadav. Hemal Ingle gets very little scope as Mishty. Chittranjan Giri is so-so as Chaube. Others pass muster.

Abhishek Raj Khemka and Rajnish Thakur’s direction is dull. Music (by Vishal Shah, Sangeet Patil, Ripul Sharma, Aishwarya Nigam and Shravan Sinha) is dull. Lyrics are barely functional. Chinni Prakash and Adil Shaikh’s choreography is nothing to dance about. Harshavardhan Rameshwar’s background music is routine. Amol Gole’s camerawork is poor. Action and stunt scenes (by Abbas Ali Moghul and Ameet Naikar) lack thrill. Bijon Dasgupta’s production designing is average. Ranjeet Bahadur’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.

On the whole, One Two Cha Cha Chaa is a disaster.

Released on 16-1-’26 at Inox (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru PEN Marudhar Cine Entertainment. Publicity & opening: dull. …….Also released all over. Opening was poor everywhere.
