‘PAW PATROL: THE DINO MOVIE’ (ANIMATION; DUBBED) REVIEW | 21 August, 2026

Spin Master Entertainment’s PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie (animation; dubbed from the Canadian film of the same name; UA) is an adventure comedy based on the television series PAW Patrol. It is a sequel to PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023).

The PAW Patrol end up caught in a storm and washed up on an island inhabited by dinosaurs, after rescuing a family from a boat fire. A wheelchair-using puppy, named Rex, knows how to communicate with the dinosaurs. Marshall befriends a baby whom he names Rhubarb. Meanwhile, mayor Humdinger is released from jail and teams up with hunter Harper Cutlass and demolition expert Alistair Stonewall to blow up the ‘Dino island’ because he learns of a diamond reserve there. Marshall and Rex are too late to avert the catastrophe which causes a volcanic eruption.

How the dinosaurs, Ryder and the Pups team up together to move the humans and smaller dinosaurs to safety, and how Marshall and Rhubarb release tons of water to save everyone from the rising lava form the latter part of the drama before Humdinger, Harper and Alistair are punished.

Cal Brunker and Bob Barlen have written a story which doesn’t offer much by way of entertainment. Their screenplay is ordinary because the drama never really involves the viewers. The audience, therefore, watch the drama unfold as mere spectators.

The voice acting of the animation characters is quite nice.

Cal Brunker’s direction is average. Animation is decent. Pinar Toprak’s music is so-so. Peter Chan’s production designing is proper. Ed Fuller’s editing is quite sharp. Dubbing is nice.

On the whole, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie is a dull fare.

Released on 21-8-’26 at Movie Time Goregaon (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru JioStar India Pvt. Ltd. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak everywhere.
