‘SAGWAAN’ REVIEW | 16 January, 2026

Sanwaliya Entertainment LLP’s Sagwaan (UA) is a murder mystery.

A girl is murdered and her body is found in the forest near the village. Another girl is killed in the village itself. Suspended police officer Ajay Pal (Himanshu Singh Rajawat) is handed over the investigation. How Rajawat busts the superstitious beliefs of the villagers and solves the mystery forms the crux of the drama.

Himanshu Singh Rajawat’s story is routine and doesn’t even pretend to be novel or fresh. The screenplay is so hackneyed that it’s not funny. Consequently, the drama becomes predictable to the core. Himanshu Singh Rajawat’s dialogues are dull.

Himanshu Singh Rajawat is average as police inspector Ajay Pal. Milind Gunaji is so-so. Ehsan Khan makes a fair mark. Sayaji Shinde makes his mark. Rashmi Mishra is routine. Gulshan Pandey does an ordinary job. Greeni Peter, Bhoopendra Singh and the rest provide dull support.

Himanshu Singh Rajawat’s direction is weak. Kapil Paliwal and Aikarth Purohit’s music is functional. Raj Malusure’s camerawork is average. Dilip Yadav’s action and stunt scenes are nothing to shout about. Bharat Sharma’s art direction is dull. Editing (Rajesh Shah) is loose.

On the whole, Sagwaan is a poor fare.

Released on 16-1-’26 at PVR Icon Andheri (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru New Age Visuals. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
