Released last week in Bombay, Filmy Jhalak International’s Smart Killer (UA) is the story of the clash between two owners of a successful construction company and an underworld don who demands a share in their business.
Priya Naidu’s story and screenplay offer no novelty. Their drama is predictable. Consequently, it fails to engage the viewers. Priya Naidu’s dialogues are routine.
Performances are below average. Durgesh Nautiyal, Sunil Pal and Hemant Birje don’t impress. Pooja Dadwal is not convincing. Pinky Chinoy, Ramesh Goyal, Atsede Addy Ethio and Vibha Tiwari lend dull support.
Yogi Khokkar’s direction is weak. R.R. Singh’s music barely deserves special mention. Lyrics (Satish Saxena, Munilal and Puja Bahar) are functional. Shravan Thakur’s choreography is ordinary. Faraz’s background music should’ve been far better. Rakesh Tiwari’s camerawork is not up to the mark. Shahbaz Ali’s action and stunt scenes lack thrill. Purushottam Goswami’s production designing, and Deepak Ambawadekar’s art direction are barely passable. Jayant Chauhan’s editing is loose.
On the whole, Smart Killer is a flop show.
