Shoan Films Production’s Solapur Gangwar (Marathi; A) is the story of gang wars in Solapur.
Anna Kalshetty (Rajendra Jadhav) is a mill worker in Solapur, who becomes an underworld don of sorts. Rakya (Pramod Sarawade) challenges Anna by joining forces with Anna’s erstwhile friend. At the first opportunity, Anna eliminates Rakya’s gang. Not the one to keep quiet, Rakya kills Anna.
Varsharani Sarawade has written an extremely routine story with absolutely no hint of novelty. Prabhu Rathod’s screenplay is full of clichéd situations. There is no scene which is unexpected. Pramod Sarawade’s dialogues are okay.
Pramod Sarawade is average as Rakya. Rajendra Jadhav is ordinary in the role of Anna Kalshetty. Vikrant Shinde lends routine support as Kalya. Maruti Katke hardly impresses as Chandan. Pranali Bhalerao is dull. Surbhi Masnale is not upto the mark.
Prabhu Rathod’s direction is weak. Prakash Prabhakar’s music is functional. Lyrics (Aruna Das and Prakash Prabhakar) are ordinary. Sachin Belbandare’s song picturisations don’t deserve separate mention. Akhilesh Pandey’s camerawork is commonplace. Mayur Singh Thakur’s sets are below the mark. Jotiba Patil’s editing leaves something to be desired.
On the whole, Solapur Gangwar is a flop fare with some chance to do well in Solapur only, because of the cast and crew being from there.
Released on 14-2-’20 at Maxus Andheri (daily 1 show) and another cinema of Bombay thru Prabhu Rathod Films.
