‘WELL DONE AAI’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 31 October, 2025

Deepali Production’s Well Done Aai (Marathi; UA) is a heartwarming comedy about a spirited mother on a mission to find the perfect bride for her son. She turns every challenge into a laughter-filled moment and ultimately finds the right daughter-in-law.

Sandeep Gachande and Shankar Dhulgude’s story is not very novel. Their screenplay is a bit better because of some entertaining comedy, but the drama appears stretched as the story moves on a single track. The duo’s dialogues are quite alright.

Vishakha Subhedar is good in the role of Shakuntala Mane. Vijay Nikam does well as Shantaram Mane. Ayush Patil is okay as Deepak Mane. Simran Khedekar is so-so as Jyoti Waghmare. Jaywant Wadkar lends impressive support as Jyoti’s father, Sadanand Waghmare. Beena Siddharth is alright as Jyoti’s mother, Mandakini Waghmare. Vipul Khandale (as Ganesh Shinde) and Tanvi Dhuri (as Sapna Kirkire) are average. Others are barely passable.

Shankar Archana Bapu Dhulgude’s direction is dull. Nishad Golambare’s music, and Sandeep Gachande’s lyrics are functional. Chini Chetan’s song picturisations are ordinary. Agnel Roman’s background music is quite nice. Ranjit Sahu’s camerawork is okay. Devendra Tawade’s art direction is average. Nilesh Gawand’s editing ought to have been sharper.

On the whole, Well Done Aai will find the going at the box-office tough.

Released on 31-10-’25 at Plaza (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Cinepolis India. Publicity & opening: poor.
