Two men were arrested by the Amboli (Andheri, Bombay) police on June 22 in connection with the break-in at actor Anupam Kher’s office at Andheri on the night of June 19. Cash totalling Rs. 4.15 lakh, an iron safe and the negative of Kher’s Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara were stolen by the burglars.
The two arrested were identified as Rafiq Shaikh (35) and Mohammad Dilshad Khan (30). Most of the stolen cash is yet to be recovered.
The police had retrieved CCTV footage which showed the two accused fleeing the scene after the theft.
