Mickyflix Entertainment, Geet Audiocraft, SPS Studios and KD Arts Films International’s Blindsided (A) is the story of a former army lieutenant, Jaideep (Udhay Bir Sandhu), who had become blind in a bomb blast during an operation to nab dreaded terrorist Al Hasan Mizhri (Mohammad Umar). Two years later, Jaideep and his fiancée, Jennifer (Farha Khan), are in a happy space. But terrorists Sophia (Akanksha Shandilya) and Rolex (K.D. Sandhu) strike to retrieve diamonds worth Rs. 20 million from Jennifer. What happens thereafter?
K.D. Sandhu has penned a story which is silly and quite ridiculous. His screenplay is kiddish and it fails to engage the viewers. The drama is so lacklustre that the audience are left wondering why the film was even made. K.D. Sandhu’s dialogues are average.
Udhay Bir Sandhu fails to impress as Jaideep. Farha Khan looks beautiful but does average acting in the role of Jennifer. Akanksha Shandilya is okay as terrorist Sophia. K.D. Sandhu is dull as Rolex. Mohammad Umar lends routine support as Al Hasan Mizhri. Chitra Sharma is so-so as Jaideep’s sister, Sneha. Saurabh Agnihotri barely passes muster as Sneha’s husband, Kamlesh Rastogi. Dharmendra Gupta is average as watchman Laxman Das. Anis Moradi is dull in the role of Roma. Anwar Hussain (as the doctor), Dharmendra Thakur (as the brigadier), Goutam Basantani (as the lieutenant) and the others lend dull support.
K.D. Sandhu’s direction is weak. Ujjwal Roy Choudhury and Manoj Kumar Bhaskar’s music is average. Mickyflix Jhakharwala’s lyrics are nothing to shout about. Kamaldeep Singh Sindhu’s choreography is dull. Priya Raj Mandal’s background music is not up to the mark. Camerawork (by Siddharth Akki Baiju, Pravesh Kumar, Goutam B. and Arjun Kathuria) is ordinary. Deepak Sharma and R.P. Yadav’s action and stunt scenes lack fire most of the times; the action sequence of Jennifer and Sophia is fairly nice. Sudhanshu Roy’s art direction is so-so. Udhay Bir Sandhu’s editing leaves something to be desired.
On the whole, Blindsided is a poor show all the way.
