BHOOTH BANGLA opened to mixed response on Thursday (16th April) in the night shows (paid previews). After a net collection total of Rs. 3.50 crore on Thursday, the film netted Rs. 11.50 crore on Friday. Looking to the audience criticism for the second half of the film, it doesn’t seem likely that it will do anything substantive at the box-office.
Dacoit Ek Prem Katha did not do well in the first week. It netted Rs. 4 crore in the first weekend and another Rs. 2.60 crore during the weekdays. Hence the first week closed at Rs. 6.60 crore.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (animation; dubbed and the original English versions) dropped a little more than 50% in the second week. It collected approximately Rs. 1.50 crore in the second weekend, and an additional Rs. 1 crore during the weekdays. Therefore, the second week closed at Rs. 2.50 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 8.33 crore.
Project Hail Mary (dubbed and the original English versions) was very steady in the third week also. It netted around Rs. 10 crore in the third weekend, and a further Rs. 7 crore during the weekdays. Hence the third week closed at Rs. 17 crore. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 66 crore.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge has written box-office history by becoming the first film to cross the Rs. 1,000-crore mark in net box-office collections. It achieved the feat at the end of the fourth weekend only. The fourth weekend started with a take of Rs. 6.75 crore on Friday. Collections on Saturday jumped to Rs. 12.25 crore. The total for Sunday was Rs. 13.25 crore. After a fourth weekend total of Rs. 32.25 crore, collections for the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 4.75 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 6.35 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 3.65 crore, Thursday – Rs. 3 crore. Hence the total for the weekdays was Rs. 17.75 crore. In this way, the total for the fourth week was Rs. 50 crore. Grand total for 4 weeks: Rs. 1,027 crore.
The Trap (Marathi) fared poorly in 1st week all over Maharashtra.
Super Duperr (Marathi) continued its victory march in 2nd week in Maharashtra. In fact, collections in the second week were better than in the first week.
