Kapil Wadhawan and his brother, film producer Dheeraj Wadhawan, promoters of Dewan Housing Finance Limited, will be chargesheeted by the Satara police for defying lockdown rules in April. On April 9, the two brothers were intercepted on their way to Mahabaleshwar from Khandala along with 21 others. They were travelling in five private cars when they were intercepted and put in mandatory quarantine. They were subsequently booked under IPC sections related to disobedience of order duly promulgated by public servants, negligent act likely to spread infection, and malignant act likely to spread infection of disease, and relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act and the COVID-19 Maharashtra Regulation Act. A CBI team later arrested the brothers from Mahabaleshwar in the various cases they are being probed in.
