The Mira Road (Bombay) police on 19th August arrested Aaditya Vashisht, the alleged boyfriend of television actress Sejal Sharma, who committed suicide in January, for abetting her suicide and under the Maharashtra Anti Superstition and Black Magic Act. Sejal was found hanging in her rented house. Although she left a suicide note, she did not name anyone in it. Aaditya is a Delhi-based gym instructor and model. He was produced before a magistrate in Thane, who remanded him to police custody for four days.
The ‘boyfriend’ was arrested after Sejal’s mother filed a complaint against him in April. The mother alleged that Aaditya manipulated her daughter under the guise of solving her problems. Aaditya had ended his relationship with Sejal the day she took her life.
