INDIGO QUIZZED OVER NORMS VIOLATION ON KANGANA FLIGHT | 12 September, 2020

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on 11th September sough ta report from IndiGo airlines about the alleged violation of safety and social distancing norms by television channel reporters on board the flight that Kangana Ranaut was travelling in from Chandigarh to Bombay on 9th September. A video footage of the on-board chaos, shot by a passenger, made rounds on social media. The footage showed journalists, many of them without masks, with video cameras, jostling and crowding along the aisle to get access to Kangana when the flight landed in Bombay. In the same video, the in-flight announcement can be heard: “Please do not harass any passenger. You all will be subject to security by CISF staff on landing… please remain seated.”

IndiGo, in its reply to the DGCA, said that the cabin crew and the captain had followed all requisite protocols.
