The I & B ministry on 29th september announced that veteran filmmaker Shekhar Kapur would be the next chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) governing council and president of the FTII Society. Seventy-four-year-old Shekhar will succeed Brijendra Pal Singh who was appointed in 2018. His term will be till March 3, 2023.
