Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi film director Vijay Reddy passed away yesterday (9th October) at Apollo Hospital in Madras. He was 84. In Kannada alone, he had made 40 films! He stepped foot in the Kannada film industry as an assistant editor in 1953. In Hindi, he had directed Teri Meherbaniyan, Jawab Hum Denge, Pyar Kiya Hai Pyar Karenge, Paap Ka Ant, Shriman Shrimati and Hum Hain Kamaal Ke. Of these, the first four named films were produced by K.C. Bokadia.
Among his notable Kannada films were Gandhada Gudi, Naa Ninna Bidalare, Rangamahal Rahasya, Sri Srinivasa Kalyana, Sanaadi Appanna and Karnataka Suputhra, which was his last directorial venture. It starred Vishnuvardhan. The film released in 1996. Vijay Reddy also wrote and produced films.
