The income-tax department has issuÂed notices to several Dera followers who had allegedly gifted or transferred large tracts of land in the name of Dera Sacha Sauda after the properties were purchasÂed in their names. This follows the arrest last year of Dera chief and actor, writer, producer, director Ram Rahim Singh in cases of rape and murder.
The I-T department started action after receiving inputs from the CBI and after corroborating them with other evidence. The I-T department has taken permission under Prohibition of Benami Property Transaction Act from the authorities conÂcerned for the purpose.
