FOX NOT SCREENING ‘TADAP’ IN CINEMAS WHICH DID NOT SCREEN DISNEY’S ‘ETERNALS’ | 28 November, 2021

Fox has decided not to screen its Tadap, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, in those single-screen cinemas which did not screen parent company Disney’s Eternals (which had been dubbed in Hindi too). Tadap is slated for release on 3rd December. In a circuit like Bihar-Jharkhand alone, the debut film of Ahan Shetty, directed by Milan Luthria, may, therefore, not open in at least seven cinemas which could not screen Eternals.

A source close to Disney said that those cinemas which backed out of their commitment to screen Eternals will not be given Tadap to screen. While the move is seen as getting back at such cinemas, the question which arises is: Is it ethical that because one film was not screened by a single-screen cinema, another producer’s film is not given to that cinema for screening? For, in the final tally, the loss of shares from such cinemas will have to be borne by Nadiadwala also, besides Fox (Disney).
