A number of junior artistes created a ruckus outside La Martiniere College in Lucknow yesterday (2nd March), alleging that they were not paid for their work in Gadar 2. They also said, they were not provided basic amenities like drinking water. The film, sequel to Gadar Ek Prem Katha (2001), is directed by Anil Sharma, and stars Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel.
The junior artistes said, there were old people too among them, but they were also made to stand for long hours without compensation or even a glass of water. They alleged that the production hands told them that there would be no payment for their work as their compensation would be the food provided to them. The production hands, however, accused the revolting junior artistes of spreading lies. They alleged that far more number of people turned up for the trial shooting than was required. The actual shooting was scheduled to begin today (3rd March), they clarified, and, therefore, there was never meant to be payment for the day on which the junior artistes were only being acclimatised to the shooting atmosphere.
