Punjabi singer and rapper, occasional actor and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unknown persons today (29th May) at Jawaharke village in Mansa district of Punjab. A Canada-based gangster, Goldy Brar, has taken responsibility for the murder. The murder weapon was an AK-47.
The murder of Moose Wala alias Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu took place just a day after the Punjab government withdrew his security. As bad luck would have it, Moose Wala did not take his bulletproof car and gunman with him on the day of the murder. Preliminary investigations revealed that the cause of the killing was inter-gang rivalry.
Two cars intercepted the singer-actor-politician’s car and what followed was a rain of bullets.
Sidhu Moose Wala used to sing songs glorifying violence and guns. He had also acted in two Punjabi films, Moosa Jatt and Yes I Am Student.
