BJP-backed independent candidate Subhash Chandra lost the Rajasthan Rajya Sabha elections. The satellite television pioneer in India got 30 votes only. The winners were Congress candidates Randeep Surjewala (43 votes), Mukul Wasnik (42 votes) and Pramod Tiwari (41 votes), besides BJP candidate Ghanshyam Tiwari (43 votes).
Incidentally, Subhash Chandra left the battle without waiting for the results as he accepted defeat even before the results were declared.
