THREE BENGALI FILMS TO POSE TOUGH COMPETITION TO ‘CIRKUS’ IN WEST BENGAL IN CHRISTMAS WEEK | 30 November, 2022

Easily one of the most eagerly awaited films of this year, Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus will release on 23rd December. The teaser of the film has been very well received and the public is, in fact, awaiting its trailer which will be out on 2nd December. Not just among the public, the film set in the 1960s, is also hot in exhibition circles.

However, the hugely anticipated film will have a tough time getting good cinemas and the optimum number of shows in West Bengal circuit in the Christmas week as it will clash with not one or two but three Bengali films, all arriving with very high expectations. Of course, Avatar: The Way Of Water, due for release a week earlier — on 16th December — is expected to go so strong that a lot of cinemas and shows will be cornered by it in the second week too. The three Bengali films slated for release in West Bengal circuit on 23rd December are Haami 2, Projapoti and Hatyapuri. The West Bengal distributor of Cirkus, Ratan Saha, will have a tough time because his film will be competing with three Bengali films, two of which — Projapoti and Hatyapuri — are being distributed by himself!
