A Vasai court on March 4 granted actor Sheezan Khan bail. The 28-year-old was arrested on December 25 last year for allegedly abetting the suicide of his co-star and ex-girlfriend, Tunisha Sharma.
The court accepted his plea and allowed his release on a personal bond of Rs. 1 lakh and surety of Rs. 50,000. He is likely to be released from Thane jail (where he has been lodged since December 31, 2022) on March 6.
Khan had filed a second bail plea on February 20, after the first was rejected on January 19. In the present bail plea, Sheezan Khan’s lawyer argued that his client was being denied bail as he belonged to a minority community. He also said that the police had got no proof to show that Khan had harassed and led Tunisha to take the extreme step. He informed the court that Khan’s petition to quash the FIR against him was likely to be heard in the Bombay high court on March 9.
