LATEST POSITION | 3 May, 2025 ‘RAID 2’ OPENS TO IMPRESSIVE HOUSES, ‘KESARI CHAPTER 2’ DOES WELL IN 2ND WEEK TOO

Raid 2 opened to impressive houses on Thursday (May 1), partly because of the strong brand value after the success of the first part — Raid — and partly because of the Labour Day holiday on that day. It netted Rs. 18.50 crore and although collections dropped on the second day, the fall was to the extent expected on a working second day after a holiday on the first day. Collections totalled Rs. 11.50 crore on day 2 (Friday).

The Bhootnii fared poorly on the first day (Thursday, May 1). It collected only Rs. 0.60 crore.

Thunderbolts (dubbed and the original English versions) opened quite well on Thursday (May 1), netting Rs. 4 crore (approximately).

Ground Zero found neither appreciation nor a sizeable audience in 1st week. It collected only Rs. 1.32 crore on the first day. Collections increased to Rs. 1.92 crore on Saturday. The total for Sunday was only Rs. 2.22 crore. After a first weekend total of Rs. 5.46 crore only, collections for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 0.65 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.72 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.58 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.22 crore. Therefore, the total for the weekdays was only Rs. 2.17 crore. Therefore, the total for 1st week was just Rs. 7.63 crore.

Phule found appreciation only from a thin section of the class audience and, therefore, fared poorly in the first week. It started the first weekend with a dull Rs. 25 lakh. Collections jumped to Rs. 43 lakh on Saturday, and increased to Rs. 57 lakh on Sunday. After a low first weekend total of Rs. 1.25 crore, collections on the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 29 lakh, Tuesday – Rs. 25 lakh, Wednesday – Rs. 20 lakh, Thursday – Rs. 13 lakh. Hence the total for the weekdays was only Rs. 87 lakh. In this way, the total for 1st week was Rs. 2.12 crore.

Until Dawn (dubbed and the original English versions) did ordinary business in the first week. It collected approximately Rs. 2.75 crore in the first weekend, and another Rs. 1.45 crore during the weekdays. Hence the total for the first week was Rs. 4.20 crore.

Ne Zha 2 (animation, dubbed and the original Mandarin versions) underperformed in 1st week. Despite extraordinary animation quality — probably the best one has ever seen — the film netted dull collections in its first week because of a confusing drama. It could collect only Rs. 0.80 crore in the first week.

Kesari Chapter 2 held on reasonably well, falling less than 40% in the second week. The second weekend started with a net collection of Rs. 4.05 crore. Collections on Saturday jumped to Rs. 7.20 crore. The Sunday total was Rs. 8.14 crore. After a second weekend total of Rs. 19.39 crore, collections for the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 2.65 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 2.72 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 2.25 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.80 crore. Hence the total for the weekdays was Rs. 9.42 crore. In this way, the second week closed at Rs. 28.81 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 75.35 crore.

Jaat did very average business in 3rd week. It collected around Rs. 2.90 crore in the third weekend, and another Rs. 1.90 crore during the weekdays. In this way, the total for 3rd week was Rs. 4.80 crore. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 80.98 crore.

A Minecraft Movie (dubbed and the original English versions) collected about Rs. 1.10 crore in the fourth week. Grand total for 4 weeks: Rs. 14 crore.
