Film writer-director Anees Bazmee celebrated his completion of 45 years in the film industry, with a grand party on 14th December at the Sahara Star Hotel in Bombay. Since he learned the craft under the tutelage of none other than Raj Kapoor, there couldn’t have been a better day to celebrate his achievements than on the birth centenary of the late showman.
The industry people came in large numbers to wish the maverick filmmaker many more successful years ahead. His latest release was the Diwali bonanza, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Of course, his Naam was released after that, but that is a film which was completed many years ago and had taken years to come to the screen.
Anees is superstitious about mentioning the number of films he has written and/or directed. But that cannot take away from the huge body of work of the ever-smiling filmmaker who started out as a writer and then went on to become a successful director too.
Bazmee cut a huge cake to mark the occasion. The party and merry-making went on till the wee hours of the next morning.
