Popular actress of Bhojpuri films, Gauri Khurana, passed away yesterday (26th September) at her residence in Bombay. She had been unwell since a few months.
Gauri had played the lead roles in such films as Dharti Maiya, Jwala Daku, Ganga Kinare Mora Gaon, Dulha Ganga Paar Ke, Nain Mile Chain Kahaan, Chintamani Surdas, Dilbar and Chhotki Bahu. Her last film in the lead role was Ganga Ke Paar Saiyan Hamar. She had started out as a child artiste. As a child actress, she was seen in Hindi films like Ramesh Sippy’s Andaz and K.C. Bokadia’s Rivaaj. She was the child artiste in the super-hit Hai na bolo bolo, papa ko mummy se, mummy ko papa se pyaar hai song from Andaz.
