Heavy police checking in cinemas of Kanpur to locate bombs resulted in several shows of Madam Chief Minister being cancelled today (January 22). The Richa Chadda starrer opened today in Kanpur as in the rest of the country. One Suryavanshi Badshah tweeted from his account that there would be bomb blasts in Cinemax South X, Miraj, Gurudev and Pammi cinemas during the screening of Madam Chief Minister, and everybody in the said cinema halls would die. The tweet sent the Kanpur and Uttar Pradesh police in a tizzy. Sniffer dogs and bomb squads of the police were put in motion to locate the bombs but nothing was found in any of the cinemas named in the tweet. Some shows of the film in the said cinemas had to be cancelled in view of the threat.
The police has filed a case against the Twitter account.
