‘CHHICHHORE’ POSTPONED: NO CLASH WITH ‘SAAHO’ | 1 August, 2019

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has moved his Chhichhore ahead by a week. It will now release on 6th September instead of 30th August, as originally scheduled. This will give an opposition-free week to Prabhas’ debut Hindi film, Saaho. It may be recalled that Saaho was first planned for release on 15th August but its release was postponed by two weeks as the computer graphics and other post-production work were taking longer to complete than estimated. It may be mentioned here that both, Saaho and Chhichhore, have Shraddha Kapoor playing the female lead.

Says Sajid Nadiadwala, producer of Chhichhore, “I usually talk to every producer who matters and whose film would be releasing around the time my film is being planned for release, just so that a clash can be avoided. I had spoken to V. Vamshi Krishna Reddy, producer of Saaho, among others, before finalising the release date of Chhichhore as 30th August. But he postponed Saaho by two weeks, as a result of which his film and mine would be clashing. That’s why I decided to shift my film ahead by a week and bring it on 6th September.” Sajid narrates a funny incident relating to the release plans. Says he, “Vamshi rang me up the other day and asked whether I was postponing my film or coming in opposition of his Saaho. Although I had already decided to move to 6th September, I told him that I would not be postponing my film as I had heard that his Saaho was not carrying good reports. He was taken so aback by my statement that I didn’t hear anything from his end for a few seconds. It is then that I started to laugh. I then told him, presumably to his great relief, that I had shifted my film to 6th September.”

As a chain reaction, Vipul Shah has now postponed his Commando 3 which was slated to hit the screens on 6th September. It will release on another date which has not been finalised as yet. The film could actually not release in September now.
