CINEMAS IN GURGAON, FARIDABAD, THREE OTHER CITIES IN HARYANA TO SHUT DOWN | 1 January, 2022

Cinemas in five cities of Haryana, viz. Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ambala, Panchkula and Sonepat have been ordered to remain closed from tomorrow (January 2) to January 12 due to these cities having the highest daily number of Coronavirus cases and the growing cases of the Omicron variant. The Haryana state government issued an order to this effect today (January 1, 2022).

Cinemas in Delhi have shut down from December 29, 2021. The Tamil Nadu government ordered cinemas to operate at 50% capacity for 10 days from today (January 1) in place of the hitherto 100% capacity.

Looking at the restrictions imposed by the Delhi, Haryana and Tamil Nadu governments, it is expected that more states will follow suit.
